Let’s support good in the world and make a difference. Help us serve more children and their parents for Family Promise North Shore Boston.

  • 13% of the population of the United States is black (source)
  • 41% of people experiencing homelessness in
the United States are black (source)
  • Almost 100% of our volunteer and donor base is white.

Why is this important? If we are going to continue being a leading agency in the fight against homelessness, we need to understand how homelessness disproportionately affects people of color due to the reality of systemic racism. If we are going to continue fighting to change the world, we need to understand what needs to change in the first place.

It is not enough to just donate and volunteer. We need to speak out against the injustice happening towards the families of color we all serve. This resource from the National Alliance to End Homelessness outlines the systemic issues contributing to homelessness among black people. The Alliance is a nonpartisan, nonprofit organization committed to preventing and ending homelessness in the United States.

Just a small donation will go a long way to helping me meet my goal for Family Promise North Shore Boston
